cooper's nursery

My vision for Cooper’s room was to create a space that felt sophisticated, yet practical and cozy. Minimalistic, but not void of joy and playfulness. I leaned into neutral colors and bypassed the cliché pinks and blues to create an evergreen style, fitting for a toddler Cooper.

I started with the wallpaper. I knew I wanted to create an accent wall using contemporary wallpaper, and fell in love with these stylish, abstract waves in Lulu & Georgia’s Alina wallpaper.

Next up, I sought out a crib to compliment the wallpaper, as I knew it would be pushed up against that accent wall. I went with the Babyletto Lolly Convertible Crib. I love its simple, modern design, the natural spindles and white frame and that it converts into a toddler bed. Because I wanted to utilize under her crib as storage for her playmats, this linen crib skirt was functional in covering up what I did not want seen and very fitting for the vibe I was creating.

The nursery chair might be the most important piece of any nursery. It has to be comfy and functional, since that’s where you will spend hours feeding your babe (at least that’s been the case for me already). But, I also wanted a chair that popped - that really brought the room together. I went with the Snoozer Cream Nursery Glider Chair from Crate & Barrel, paired with the matching storage ottoman. The cherry on top is the BaubleBar On Repeat Blanket draped over the chair.

I moved what was previously our brass bar cart next to the chair to be able to put her Hatch sound machine on, eventually put up her VAVA baby monitor and a Boho Rattan Table Lamp from Target that I put a red light bulb in and use as the sole source of lighting for nighttime feedings.

I stayed consistent with my neutral aesthetic when picking out the dresser. It took me awhile to find one I loved though, as I did not like any of the “kids” dressers. When I broadened my search beyond what were standard nursery dresser options, I found this Burke Decor Sydney 6 Drawer Dresser. The mirror above it is the Infinity Brass Wall Round Mirror from CB2. The changing basket and accompanying cotton liner are from Bohemian Mama. The brass-colored acrylic storage diaper caddies and tall white ceramic vase are from West Elm. The smaller vase is from Lilah Lifestyle.

Because the nursery is a rather small space, I did not want much more wall decor, but did chose to hang 2 bookshelves adjacent to the accent wall. I love this bleached wood, brushed-brass hanging magazine rack set from Anthropologie.

Under the bookshelves is a laundry hamper from Urban Outfitters. It’s not sold online any longer, but they have some other laundry hamper options that I would totally get now if the one I have was not available.

Bringing it all together are the tiered pendant lamp with fringe tassels from Pottery Barn and Lorena Canals reversible washable rug. We have a Lorena Canals washable rug in our living room and with a dog and baby, I knew I wanted to have another one in the nursery.
