Rutabegorz
Rutabegorz
I have been obsessed with this place since high school. It’s a total health food haven with an uncomplicated menu of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, amongst other breakfast, lunch and dinner options that all feel homemade. The Orange, CA location that I go to regularly is a house renovated to be a restaurant and feels super homey and cozy. I am a creature of habit at Rutabegorz and usually always get one of two things at lunch or dinner. The first is the vegetarian sandwich, which is a hot, open face sandwich on fresh squaw bread, topped with lots of fresh seasonal veggies and melted cheese, topped with tomatoes and sunflower seeds. I ask for a side of enchilada sauce (do it). If I am not getting that sandwich, I am getting the Italiano salad with garlic chicken (so so good), romaine, garbanzo beans, red onion, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, jack and parmesan cheese, sundried tomatoes, tossed with a housemade dijon vinaigrette. I love that they serve salads in big bowls - again, feels just like home.
They have locations in Orange, Fullerton and Tustin.
