Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop
An order-at-the-counter kinda place, with a cute outdoor, dog-friendly patio or the option to order at the bar (at the location on 17th street) and watch whatever game is on. If i am doing happy hour with girlfriends, i love this place because the happy hour food menu actually has options I want to order. Personally, I love the paleo chicken fingers as a starter - baked almond crusted chicken strips served with avocado pesto and vegan nacho aioli and the buffalo cauliflower served with a delishhh vegan ranch. I also crave their turkey burger (protein style) regularly, with avocado, turkey bacon, caramelized onions with a homemade relish. I upgrade the side salad for a side of the baked sweet potato fries with avocado pesto. Another regular for me is the la la bowl with farro, balsamic vinaigrette, smashed avocado, black beans, tomatoes, corn, kale tossed in vegan ranch and drizzled with vegan nacho aioli. My guilty pleasure here is the turkey melt on pretzel bread with all-natural turkey, aged white cheddar, spinach, caramelized onion and whole grain mustard aioli. My go-to salad is the lemongrass chicken salad with baby mixed greens, chicken, mango, pineapple, jicama, popcorn shoots, toasted coconut, cashews and Thai chili with a lemongrass lychee dressing - but I sub salmon for chicken.
You can also build your own salad or plate here, which is what I do most of the time. I make my own plate and rotate between the salmon, cauliflower rice and sautéed greens or salmon, sweet potato fries and garlicky broccolini.
