This is a cute little natural foods café in a charming Spanish style building right on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach with lots of fresh, organic vegetarian and vegan options (plus a lot of gluten free ones). I have not been here for breakfast nor tried the açaí bowls (which I always see people ordering, so they must be good) - but I go out of my way to come to Active Culture for the naked coconut shake with homemade raw and organic almond milk, organic frozen coconut base and raw and organic agave nectar, and then I rotate between the wholesome bowl with organic brown rice, organic black and red beans, cheddar cheese, cabbage, salsa, avocado, cilantro, seasoning drizzled with their OG sauce and the LB rice bowl with organic brown rice, prosciutto, goat’s milk cheese, apples, dates, basil tossed in a lemon vinaigrette. My little menu hack for both of these bowls is ordering half the amount of rice and then adding in organic mixed greens. They also have a self-serve frozen yogurt bar.
